Acid Tears (Official Music Video) out today!
Last night I sang and played the piano at Lola’s European Cafe. It was the third time doing that, and it’s continuing to look like a regular, Monday night gig. Super fun!
I just posted the Official Music Video for my song “Acid Tears,” from the Deluxe Edition of my debut album: FACE THE MUSIC. I am so excited because this is pretty much my first, full-length music video! It sat on the shelf for a little while—it was shot last summer—but the timing was right for today.
I was on vacation in Isle of Palms, SC with my family, and thought it would be the perfect time to take advantage of being by the ocean for content. By the time we wrapped up shooting a handful of takes, the tide had risen so high, we needed to get back on dry land before we washed away! Shoutout to Mom and Dad for filming on their phones, I think this could be a viable career opportunity for them haha!
This is one of my favorite songs, both musically and even more so lyrically. It is filled with imagery and water/sea/ocean references. I am obsessed with water. I also loved adding the “siren call ooos” as a pretty, little layer under the main vocals.
“Acid Tears” is a darker themed love song, where the other person is struggling, hurting, drowning you with them. The pain they feel makes you sad, and you’re crying for them.
